What is a password policy?
A password policy is a set of rules designed to enhance security by enforcing strong password creation and management practices. It typically includes requirements such as minimum length, complexity (e.g. use of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters). The goal is to reduce the risk of unauthorized access by making passwords harder to guess or crack while ensuring users follow best practices for cybersecurity.
What do the individual settings mean?
- Minimum Characters
The minimum length of the password. You can specify a value between 8 and 100 characters. - Capital Letter
Requires the password to contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter. - Numbers
Requires the password to contain at least one number. - Symbols
Requires the password to contain at least one special character.
What is the default password policy for ConnectedCooking?
To ensure a minimum level of security, our default password policy includes the following requirements:
- At least 8 characters long
- At least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
- At least one number
Where does the password policy apply?
The default or your custom policy applies to all users in your company. The enforcement of this policy will be applied in the following scenarios:
- When a user specifies a new password via "forgot your password?"
- When you invite a new user to your company
- When a user changes their password via the
