This Guide explains in short how to start with OPC UA in ConnectedCooking. Please keep in mind that this guide only refer to our Cloud OPC UA solution.

  • First, we need to create an API Client in our ConnectedCooking Account.
  • Therefore, we navigate in our ConnectedCooking Account into the Administration Tab.
Administration Button

  • Next click on Integrations. (The API Tab is only for Account Admins visible).

  • Then we click on “+ Add new”.
Add Integration

  • In the next picture we give a “ALIAS”, assign a GROUP and choose an API type. For the API queries regarding OPC UA and the data in our with ConnectedCooking connected devices we need the “OPCUA via Cloud interface” API-type. After filling all columns, we click on “Add API”.
OPC UA Client

  • In the next screen we receive our API client credentials. Please safe them on a secure place and click on close.
  • After we create our API client, we need a tool to use it.
Therefore you can use for example UaExpert or any other tool you know. In this Guide we will use UaExpert.
  • Please start UaExpert. Then add a new Server via the “Server” button on the upper bar and click after that on “Add…”. Alternatively, you can also just create a new server by clicking on the “+” symbol.

  • After that we can connect to the server via one of the available authentication methods. For example Basic256Sha256 – Sign & Encrypt (uatcp-uasc-uabinary) by double clicking on it.
OPC UA Choose encryption

  • Next, click on “Connect” via the context menu in the server overview below “Projects”.
