Network requirements for ConnectedCooking

Highlightbox

Certain network and IT requirements must be met for the successful integration and safe operation of ConnectedCooking. The following points provide an overview of the most important prerequisites and technical details.

Network

  • The connection of ConnectedCooking devices is established either via an Ethernet port (LAN) or an internal Wi-Fi interface that communicates with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi access point (802.11b/g/n, WPA2) (e.g., iCombi Pro, iVario Pro, or Wi-Fi option for iCombi Classic).
  • For the VarioCookingCenter and SelfCookingCenter, a Wi-Fi adapter (RATIONAL 60.76.714) can be used in addition to the Ethernet port (LAN).
  • All network components must be installed to be protected against splashing and jet water.
  • For older device models, retrofitting with an Ethernet port may be required.

Firewall and Protocols

  • The following ports and protocols are required for communication with ConnectedCooking:
    • TCP port 443 (outbound) for HACCP and device data
    • TCP port 8883 (outbound) for device data
    • TCP/UDP port 53 (outbound) for DNS services
    • UDP port 68 (broadcast) for DHCP services
    • For iCombi Classic additionally: TCP port 8443 (outbound) for HACCP and device data, TCP port 8884 (outbound) for device data
  • The firewall must be configured to allow outbound connections to *.connectedcooking.com via the specified ports. Alternatively, IP 20.16.138.50 can be used.
  • The devices support DHCP for automatic assignment of IP address, netmask, gateway, and DNS server. Alternatively, these settings can be configured manually by the network administrator.

Security

  • The connection to ConnectedCooking is exclusively via encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS1.3).
  • Wi-Fi connections must be encrypted with at least WPA2. A connection via WPA Enterprise is not possible.

IT Infrastructure

  • A current internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge) is required to access ConnectedCooking (HTTPS port 443).
  • No software is installed on the computer; access is exclusively via the browser.
  • The devices must be equipped with the latest software version (e.g., SelfCookingCenter SCC_07-00-10-6.34 or higher, VarioCookingCenter VCC-01-02-04.7 or higher, iCombi Pro LM100-16.2.25 or higher, iCombi Classic LM200-8.0.0 or higher, iVario Pro LMX-2.10.0 or higher).
