What is the EU Data Act?
The EU Data Act is a European regulation that came into force on September 12, 2025. Its aim is to ensure fair access to and use of data generated by connected products and related services. Users – both businesses and consumers – are granted the right to access, share, and control the use of the data they generate.
What does this mean for RATIONAL?
RATIONAL ensures full compliance with the EU Data Act. Data is provided in a structured and transparent manner, in accordance with regulatory requirements. The data is prepared in a way that allows customers to analyze it directly.
Which data is provided?
As part of the EU Data Act, RATIONAL provides the following data:
1. HACCP Data
Via the HACCP API, customers can access HACCP-relevant data such as temperature profiles, cooking times, and device status. This data is:
- Machine-readable
- Time-stamped and traceable
- Immediately usable by the customer
2. Customer Interaction Data (MMI)
Based on the Excel definition table, the following input values are provided:
- Core temperature, cabinet temperature, delta climate, cooking time
- End options such as Hold, Brown and Crisp, Reinsert Probe, Finishing
- Parameters such as browning level, humidity level, fan speed, microwave intensity
- Manual inputs from iCookingSuite and iProductionManager
These data points are clearly named and include both technical and user-friendly descriptions.
How is the data provided?
Currently, data is provided manually. An automated solution via ConnectedCooking is in development. You will be informed as soon as it becomes available.
How can customers request data?
Please send data access requests in accordance with the EU Data Act to:
📧 cc-support@rational-online.com
To process your request, we require:
- The serial number of the device
- The support ID of the ConnectedCooking account where the device is registered
The data will then be generated and provided directly to the customer.
