With the Digital Service Manager, you can register devices for your existing customers. You can even do this remotely with ease. All you need is the RATIONAL serial number.
Important: With this service, you always link the devices to the customer's ConnectedCooking account so that you can also see and manage them. However, you can never add customer devices to your own Digital Service Manager account, as they do not belong to you.
Requirements:
- The customer for whom you are registering a device must have a ConnectedCooking account.
- You must already have a customer connection to this customer and, if necessary, approval for the customer's corresponding group (e.g., a specific branch).
- The device itself must be unregistered.
Solution steps:
- Click on “Devices” in the main menu.
- Select “+ Add device.”
- Select the customer and the group to which the device is to be added.
- Enter the serial number of the device and check carefully that it is correct.
- Assign a suitable name for the device (the customer can change this at any time afterwards, but you cannot).
- Confirm that the customer has authorized you to assign the device to the correct group and bring it online.
- Click “Add device” to complete the process.
- You will now find this device as a shell in the “Pending” tab.
Complete registration on the device:
In order for the device to be added, the registration request you sent must be confirmed on the device itself. Either you or your colleagues can do this during your next on-site visit, or you can ask the customer to perform the corresponding steps on the device display.
- Ensure that the device has a stable internet connection and can access ConnectedCooking.
- Open the settings of the RATIONAL cooking system.
- Select “ConnectedCooking” from the menu.
- Tap on “Log in with my account” and then on “QR code login.”
- The device will now automatically register itself in the correct account and group with the name you have assigned.
- Don't forget: Check that the “Automatic software update,” “HACCP data transmission,” and “Remote access” functions are activated so that you can use the full range of functions offered by the platform.
- Both you and your customer can now see the device in their accounts (tip: refresh the page).
For security reasons, the registration process must be completed on the device within 14 days, otherwise the request you created will expire.
