How to connect SelfCookingCenter & VarioCookingCenter

Step 1) Check the manufacturing date of your device

Only SelfCookingCenter and VarioCookingCenter models manufactured after 07/2017 can be connected to ConnectedCooking. These devices come with a LAN connection as standard, but do not have a WiFi connection. For WiFi, the WiFi adapter can be purchased as an accessory. For prices and installation, please contact your RATIONAL service partner.


Step 2) Check the software version of the device

In order for your device to communicate with ConnectedCooking, you need at least software version SCC_07-00-10-6.34 (SelfCookingCenter) or VCC-01-02-04.7 (VarioCookingCenter). Follow these steps to check the software version of your device.


Step 3) Connect your device to ConnectedCooking

Please follow these steps to connect your device

  1. Tap the device icon on the bottom left of the home screen
  2. Tap the ConnectedCooking entry (ConnectedCooking logo)
  3. Tap Show registration code
  4. Now you will see an Activation code (e.g. 111-111-111)
  5. Note down the Activation code


Step 3.2.1) Add the device via the ConnectedCooking App

The easiest and most convenient way to add a device is via the ConnectedCooking app. Please follow these steps to add a device via the app:

  1. Open the ConnectedCooking App
  2. Tap Devices in the bottom bar
  3. Tap the plus icon
  4. Either type in the Activation Code or tap on the scan icon on the end of the feld (you will have to give camera access to the App in order to use the scan function)
  5. Enter a name for the device
  6. Check that you agree to the privacy terms
  7. Tap Save
Once the activation was successfully, you will see a green Login successful message. Your device will now appear in ConnectedCooking device list.


Step 3.2.2) Add the device via your Browser

If you have not installed the app or do not wish to use it, open your web browser and follow these steps:

  1. Open ConnectedCooking and go to Asset Managementbreadcrumb dividerMy Devicesbreadcrumb dividerDevice Overview or click here
  2. Tap Add
  3. Enter a name for the device
  4. Enter the Activation Code
  5. (Optional) Select the group of the device
  6. Check that you agree to the privacy terms
  7. Tap Save
Once the activation was successfully, you will see a green Login successful message. Your device will now appear in ConnectedCooking device list.
