Since data consumption depends on usage, this article assumes two usage scenarios: "normal" and "intensive". Data usage is particularly relevant when using LTE routers, as LTE tariffs generally sum the volume of both upload and download. Exceptions may occur with special M2M or IoT tariffs, where often only the download is counted.
Normal usage (average usage and/or few cooking systems connected to one router):
- Data transmission: avg. 0.2 GB/month upload
- Remote access: 1–10 MB per minute, approx. 30 minutes per year → max. 0.3 GB/year upload
- Software updates: approx. 2.4 GB per update, avg. 3 updates per year → 7.2 GB/year download
Average annual consumption per cooking system:
- iCombi Pro / iHexagon / iVario: approx. 10 GB
- SCC WE: approx. 4 GB (max. 1 device software update per year with lower volume)
Intensive usage (frequent remote access, MyDisplay, many software updates, many users or cooking systems):
- Data transmission: avg. 1 GB/month upload
- Remote access: 1–10 MB per minute, approx. 120 minutes per year → 1.2 GB/year upload
- Software updates: approx. 2.4 GB per update, max. 5 updates per year → 12 GB/year download
- MyDisplay configurations: small images (~2 MB), weekly updates → approx. 0.1 GB/year download
Maximum annual consumption per cooking system:
- iCombi Pro / iHexagon / iVario: up to 25 GB
- SCC WE: up to 14 GB (max. 1 device software update per year with lower volume)
This information serves as guidance for planning data volume when using LTE connections for connected cooking systems.
